Subject Matters III was presented by Dream Box at Double 6 Studio on the weekend of July 30–31, 2016.

For this exhibition Dream Box continued to show the works of six photographers who work in different fields of photography.

Being the third in a series of four editions, the photographers who exhibited their personal projects were Benjamin Shapiro, Clarissa Steed, Eliseu Cavalcante, Flora Hanitijo, Layla Motta and Leandro Viana. While coming from distinct backgrounds and being highly prized professionals playing a key part in their careers, these photographers were encouraged to showcase the works they chose to create of their own accord in Subject Matters III.

The pop-up exhibition followed the same format from the previous editions, with the six photographers communicating different perspectives, aesthetics and themes in their work. They were asked to answer the question “Why Subject Matters?” and the answers were revealed through verbal and visual expressions: a series of photographs and a paragraph explaining why each artist approached their subject matter.

The photographs and written work were featured in a zine especially designed for Subject Matters III. The zine was distributed during the weekend of the exhibition.
